Cost: $389 no admin fee
HLTINF005 – Maintain Infection Prevention for Skin Penetration Treatments is a nationally recognised course specifically designed for those looking to undertake any skin penetration treatments such as tattooing, piercing, skin needling etc. This course is a mandatory requirement in accordance with many local councils and governments for treatments previously noted.
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to maintain infection control during skin penetration treatments and to review clinic compliance with the applicable state or territory and local council requirements.
It requires the ability to identify, manage and control infection risks to clients, self, and work colleagues. Therapists work autonomously and make independent treatment decisions.
This unit is often a pre-requisite and recommended for positions such as:
- Beauty Therapists
- Cosmetic tattooists
- Health Care Professionals Who Perform any Skin Penetration Treatments
- Tattoo Artists
- Body piercers
Outcomes from this course:
- Statement of attainment on completion of the course
- Risk reduction for yourself and your clients.
- Knowledge and understanding regarding infection prevention
- Council approval for laser use licence*
- Industry credibility
- Safe work practice
Note: Prior to applying for a “use licence” to operate any laser apparatus you will be required to complete this course as a pre-requisite. We recommend combining this Couse with our Laser Safety Course as both are pre-requisites for QLD and WA Radiation Health for laser use licences.
